«Отражения памяти» — серия о встрече двух времен, о памяти искусства и о том, как музейное стекло превращает зрителя в соучастника истории.
Картины Эрмитажа хранят изображения людей, чьи имена иногда забыты, но чьи взгляды продолжают существовать. В отражениях рядом с ними возникают лица современных людей — случайных зрителей, которые на мгновение становятся частью портрета. На этих фотографиях нет постановки. Есть прошлое и настоящее, которые накладываются друг на друга, создавая новые образы. Между живым человеком и персонажем картины исчезает временная дистанция: они оказываются в одном пространстве, смотрят в одну сторону, разделяют одну тишину.
«Лица некрополя» — это серия о присутствии человека после его исчезновения.
Они не говорят и не смотрят на нас напрямую. Их лица лишены движения, но время продолжает менять их черты. Дождь, снег, ветер и тишина становятся частью портрета. В петербургских некрополях память существует как материя — холодная, тяжелая, хрупкая. Эти каменные лица пережили поколения живых и продолжают хранить выражения чувств, которые человек боится утратить: скорбь, нежность, покой, ожидание.
