A generative environment assembled in VCV Rack that creates a five-minute composition. Sound arises from module connections, automation, and random values.
The patch consists of two parts—two sonic states, each developing according to its own set of rules.
This work explores sound as a process. In the sound patch, the sonic environments are largely predetermined, yet while playing the patch, the author can adjust the sound parameters by intervening in the system’s operation, influencing the composition with their contribution.
Where does the boundary lie between the pre-composed sonic environment and human input?

The work was created in the VCV Rack modular environment. Built-in modules, signal summing mixers, and modules from Instruo, among others, were used.
