introducing «atelier n»:
We are «atelier n», a Moscow-based fashion-design studio founded by two designers Christina and Anastassia.
We specialize in the design, pattern-making, and tailoring of unique avant-garde garments for individual clients.
We work directly with private clients, offering a personal, hands-on experience from first sketch to final fitting. Whether you dream of a dramatic gothic silhouette, a vintage-inspired piece with a contemporary edge, or a hyperfeminine garment that celebrates your individuality — we bring your vision to life, made to measure, made for the woman.Every piece we create is a one-of-a-kind statement — romantic in a byronic way, historically inspired, and radically feminine. All our projects are intellectually charged and find their visual roots in art and cinema. Our DNA is woven from three threads: theatre, retro, and hyperfemininity.
target audience
«atelier n» appeals to fashion-conscious, culturally engaged individuals aged 20–45 who value individuality, artistic expression, and unconventional femininity. Our audience is drawn to avant-garde fashion, theatrical aesthetics, historical references, and romantic silhouettes. They seek exclusive, made-to-measure garments that go beyond conventional fashion, allowing them to express their personality, embody their fantasies, and create a distinctive visual identity.

insight

Contemporary fashion is increasingly driven by mass production and repetitive trends, leaving little room for originality, individuality, and meaningful design. Consumers lack access to garments with a strong artistic identity, cultural context, and personal significance. There is a growing need for fashion that goes beyond aesthetics — clothing that tells a story, reflects individual character, and serves as a form of self-expression.
«atelier n» responds to the lack of individuality and meaningful design in contemporary fashion by combining historical research, theatrical aesthetics, and creative experimentation. Through reinterpretation of archival references, unconventional silhouettes, and bespoke craftsmanship, we create one-of-a-kind garments that connect cultural context with personal identity. Each piece is developed in close collaboration with the client, transforming individual fantasies into expressive, wearable works of art.
our projects:
hennin anachronism
«Madonna lactans» by Jean Fouquet, 1450

The project explores the transgressive aesthetics of medieval Gothic and the hennin (a headdress widespread in the 15th century) as one of its most striking manifestations. It’s almost animal, yet at the same time austere, geometric forms are refracted in the shapes of contemporary women’s wardrobe.Rogier van der Weyden PORTRAIT OF A COURT WOMAN 1435–1440 Oil on panel
Our projects explore the complex relationship between personal identity, society, and the boundaries of individual freedom.
the idea of a vampire
Bela Lugosi in «Dracula», 1931, dir. Tod Browning

The project explores how the romantic image of the vampire from 19th-century poetry made its way into cinema and, in old Hollywood, became established as one of the most striking images of mass culture — one that embodied the viewer’s fear of darkness, death, and the emancipated woman. The collection exploits the most recognizable and campy elements of the vampire costume.Theda Bara on set, 1921
madonna of decadence
Zinaida Gippius in her parlour, 1903

The project explores the aesthetics of the Silver Age through the figure of Zinaida Gippius. It draws on the historical costume of the period associated with Vyacheslav Ivanov’s «Tower» and examines the relationship between Symbolism, women’s emancipation, and intellectual freedom within the contemporary cultural context.Léon Bakst (1866–1924) PORTRAIT OF ZINAIDA GIPPIUS 1906
Through historical and cultural research, we explore the stories, identities, and artistic movements that shape our creative vision.
gregor samsa
Franz Kafka, c. 1910.

The project explores the character of Gregor Samsa from Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis as a metaphor for endemic existence — a unique, isolated state in which an individual becomes trapped within their own space and alienated from the surrounding worldRich Johnson (2013) GREGOR SAMSA Pen on paper.
Each new project becomes an opportunity to reinterpret these references through experimental silhouettes, unconventional forms, and contemporary design.
