Bracelet [01] OPEN from the RAMKI jewelry brand bracelet series

A set of three bracelets built around a single core structure: a narrow cylindrical ring, 20 mm wide with an inner diameter of 69 mm. This unified construction transforms the three pieces into a system where only the exterior relief—and consequently, the decorative character—is changed.
The first bracelet, designated [01] OPEN, introduces this series. It is the most subdued: ten soft, low-relief bumps are arranged across its surface. The second bracelet features twelve sharp spikes, giving the silhouette a more pronounced presence. The third utilizes ten long spikes, transforming the bracelet into a bold, graphic object. Thus, a single form evolves from a basic piece of wearable jewelry to an experimental art object. The bracelets were designed in 3D and are prepared for the creation of a master model, silicone mold, and wax patterns for casting.

Bracelets are cast from nikelber, a light silver-colored copper-nickel-zinc alloy. It was chosen as an accessible alternative to silver—visually almost indistinguishable from it—but at a significantly lower cost, which is important for a series of three large pieces. The alloy is suitable for investment casting and renders relief excellently.
After casting, the sprues and casting marks are removed, and the surface is also sanded and polished.
To prevent tarnishing and staining the skin, the surface is suggested to be coated with a clear protective lacquer or silvering, with optional antiquing for a cooler sheen. For a pronounced relief effect, blackening followed by polishing of the raised areas is possible.
