Code du pays translates from French as «Country Code». Writing preserves history and cultural specificity, even if the viewer does not understand the script. In this work, geographical names written in Arabic and Tifinagh (the state languages of Morocco) combine to form the outline of the country. The letters remain carriers of meaning while simultaneously shaping the image of the territory. This creates a visual code for the country that can be perceived even before the words are read.
Geographical names of varying scale and color coalesce to form the silhouette of Morocco against a black background. From a distance, the composition is perceived as a single map, but upon closer inspection, it unfolds through distinct words and characters from various writing systems.

The work continues the concept of the Moroccan calendar, where each month is represented by a typographic map of a specific region. In the new composition, all twelve regions are unified into a single image of the country. The calendar function disappears, and typography becomes the primary artistic instrument.
