Telegram Media about DJing for Beginners

1. MEDIA OBJECTIVE

DJing often seems more complicated than it is. A beginner is confronted with unfamiliar equipment, professional terminology, software, and a large amount of scattered information. Because of this, there is a high barrier to entry between the thought «I want to try it» and the actual first practice session.
The goal of «First Deck» is to make the first step into DJing understandable and accessible.
2. THEME OF FUTURE MEDIA
«First Deck» is media dedicated to taking those first steps into DJing. It is not created for professionals, but for anyone who loves music, watches DJ sets, is interested in club culture, and has ever thought, «I want to try this too.» Instead of trying to cover everything at once, this media focuses on the most challenging stage—the beginning. How is a DJ controller set up? What does a DJ hear in their headphones? What are BPM, CUE, and EQ? Where do you find music? How do you pair two tracks together? How do you make your first transition and put together a small set?
The content is structured from simple to complex, yet remains engaging: it features short explanations, set breakdowns, musical discoveries, visual cheat sheets, practical assignments, and stories from DJ culture.
3. COMPETITORS AND THEIR ANALYSIS

Today, a newcomer can find a vast amount of information on DJing: official equipment manufacturer instructions, YouTube tutorials, specialized websites, and complete online courses. For instance, AlphaTheta created a dedicated Beginner DJ section—covering everything from selecting a setup and getting acquainted with the equipment to mixing your first track. There are even step-by-step Quick Start guides that specifically explain the CUE, jog wheel, tempo, EQ, loops, and working with rekordbox.

Crossfader goes significantly deeper, offering comprehensive, structured programs ranging from beginner to advanced levels. There are dedicated courses for specific controllers, software, and genres; the beginner programs guide users from equipment setup to a complete set.
But most such solutions assume the person has already decided to study DJing. «The first controller» works one step earlier—with someone who is just curious. They don’t need a full course yet. First, they need to stop seeing the DJ controller as something complicated and understand: «It seems like I can try this too.»

4. DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL
Почему Telegram?

«First Console» exists as a Telegram channel because learning here is not separated from the usual consumption of content. A person doesn’t have to enter a separate educational platform and allocate an hour for a lesson—new material appears directly in the feed and takes only a few minutes. Telegram allows you to combine text, photos, diagrams, short videos, and audio clips in one publication. The user can not only read what a transition between two tracks is but also hear it immediately; they can not only read about EQ but also see the position of the controls.
The channel does not require a bot. The pinned message contains a «First-Time Visitor» navigation guide, which compiles the core materials into a sequential path. A regular subscriber can simply read the channel as media, while a newcomer can go through the materials from the beginning if they wish. Polls, reactions, and comments add interactivity: users can guess the moment the second track begins, select the best transition, ask questions, and share the results of the initial practice.
Telegram here is not just a publishing platform. It is part of the media format.
5. TARGET AUDIENCE

What unites the «First Booth» is not age or income, but a shared situation: music already occupies an important place in their lives, but they have not yet transitioned from listeners to people behind the decks. One constantly saves DJ sets and is newly eager to understand what happens during mixing. Another has downloaded rekordbox but closed it after ten minutes due to the sheer number of confusing features. The third bought their first controller, knows how to play two tracks, but still doesn’t understand why the transitions sound poor.
They have different experiences, but one shared request: «Help me get into DJing without getting overwhelmed by information or feeling like I don’t understand anything.»

6. USP
We don’t teach you how to become a DJ. We make the first step easy enough that you can actually take it.
