Polenovo
I worked on this project together with Maria Voronkova. We co-directed the film and developed the story together. I worked on the storyboards, character design, and all the backgrounds. I also did some of the rough animation.
My main idea was to use a split-screen to show two worlds at once: a child with diabetes and a child without it. In the end, their worlds merge, showing that they are just kids having fun together.

Three Minutes to Sleep
«Three Minutes to Sleep» is a short comedy about a little boy who keeps interrupting his dad’s bedtime story with his wild imagination.
I worked on this project with Daria Levshina and Ksenia Soldatova. Together with Daria, I co-wrote the script. I worked on the backgrounds and animated some scenes.
During the project, I faced some uncertainty with the background style. At first, I tried a classic fairy-tale look with lots of white space, then a simplified style, but neither fit the characters. Finally, we chose a style inspired by the UPA studio — flat and hermetic. It saved a lot of time and made the whole picture look complete.

New Year Shift
«New Year Shift» was my first independent short film. It tells the story of a tired woman coming home from work on New Year’s Eve to find no one has helped her with the holiday preparations.
The story is about the «second shift» women often do. I wanted to show that it’s okay to just leave and choose yourself. I used dull, gray colors to show her exhaustion, and only in the very last scene, when she walks out into the night, do the colors become bright and alive.

Panamka
«Panamka» is an animated music video for the track by Milenholia. It’s a dive into the singer’s nostalgia for a summer by the sea.
I worked as the director, creating the atmosphere and visual style. I used a warm pink and orange palette to capture the feeling of a hazy, sunny memory. The main character is guided through a whimsical town by a little sunbeam.

Project under development «Money for a Service»
A future animated short about a five-year-old girl who tries to save her family from divorce, without understanding the scale of adult problems. The story is based on a real memory.
Character concepts
The technique is frame-by-frame 2D animation. The film explores a child’s perception of the world: the camera stays at the eye level of a little girl named Katya. The world is huge and confusing, and adult problems seep through the cracks.
