As a STORYCARRIER, I bring ideas to life through 2D and 3D animation, character design, and comics. I carry stories from the first spark of an idea to fully realised visual worlds, giving characters and narratives a life of their own.

SHOWREEL
Real-World Case Study
This project was created for a publishing house BOMBORA as an animated book trailer for «The Whole-Brain Child» by Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson, published in Russian as «The Navigator of Children’s Emotions». The book explores 12 strategies for helping children aged 0–12 develop emotional intelligence and better understand their feelings.
BOMBORA gave me creative freedom in choosing the techniques and tools for the project, allowing me to experiment with the animation process and find the most suitable way to bring the book’s ideas to life.
Moodboard, sketch of a shot, final color decision and final character design
The main challenge was to develop a visual approach that would communicate the book’s ideas primarily through imagery rather than text. I also had to create an adapted version for the publisher’s promotional banners, featuring a written description of the video on screen.

Katya feels left out when illness keeps her from attending her friend’s birthday party. Overwhelmed by sadness and fear of losing her friendship, she struggles to make sense of her emotions. Through a playful conversation with her father, she learns to put her feelings into words and see the situation from a different perspective. The trailer introduces the «Name It to Tame It» technique, one of twelve strategies from «The Navigator of Children’s Emotions», showing how understanding emotions can help children navigate difficult experiences.

Animation experiments with 2D animation on 3D space

The idea of combining highly detailed 2D characters with low-poly
3D environments goes back to the early days of 3D video games («Wolfenstein 3D», «DOOM»).
Experimenting with this approach, I wanted to recreate a similar visual effect: expressive, hand-drawn characters standing out against a 3D environment. And on the other hand, realistic lightning provided by programs
for 3D-animation makes characters look more alive on the screen like they really live in this space.

Manga and comics are another form of visual storytelling that allows to explore characters, emotions, and narratives through expressive artwork and dynamic panel composition.
An ongoing personal project exploring characters and emotions through manga and animation. Pixelation serves as a key visual device, reflecting the characters' inner states and shaping the way their stories are perceived, while also opening up unexpected possibilities for visual expression.Through this project, I explore the boundaries of visual expressiveness and experiment with ways to convey emotion despite the limitations imposed by the pixelated filter. This creative struggle mirrors the manga’s central theme: the protagonists' inner conflict and their ongoing struggle with himself.

The characters were designed to work seamlessly in both frame-by-frame 2D animation and cut-out animation. Their shapes and details were carefully developed to ensure flexibility and consistency across both techniques.
