«Sever» is an extension of a project dedicated to studying the historical costume of northern Russia from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.
Northern Russia is a unique symbiosis of primal freedom, deep faith, and the harsh beauty of the Old Believers. At the core of the concept is the reinterpretation of ancient embroidery, which for centuries served not merely as decoration, but as a powerful sacred amulet for people.
The project transfers traditional geometric ornaments onto the fundamental element of a wardrobe—socks—making them streamlined, monochromatic, and relevant for everyday wear, while helping individuals connect with their roots and self-identity.
