room 12 — a web synthesizer where the same song plays in the 2005 karaoke box featuring four friends, and in the 2017 box, where you are left alone. Each jump into the past returns a fragment of that song to the empty present.
The distinctive element is that the time jumps are irreversible. Every eight measures spent in 2005 leave a trace in the empty 2017—a voice, a tambourine, a piano, or a bass. Therefore, every performance sounds unique.

What is it composed of?
The tool is designed like a karaoke machine.
The screen displays the current year, the measure, and the song line, while a jump block is located nearby: it changes the year and accumulates the next.
On the right stands a control panel for the tone, echo, and volume of the music and microphone; beneath it runs a form strip with five sections of the piece, and below that are four voice cards. One voice carries the melody, the backing track plays the chords, the bass holds down the foundation, and the tambourine sets the rhythm. Each voice has its own synthesizer, its own chain of effects, and its own channel with controls for volume, panning, mute, and solo. The lead voice goes to the «microphone» bus, the others go to the «music» bus, and both converge on the master. The jump between 2005 and 2017 simultaneously changes the timbre and effects of all voices, while the tempo remains constant.
