«PLATINA» — a concept for a transforming women’s accessory. The form of the piece is inspired by the geometry and monumentality of a pediment. The monochrome palette, rigid tectonics, and heavy metal hardware reflect the aesthetic of industrial brutalism.
The bag—as local merchandise, visual support, and a representation of the PLATINA brand—references the industrial heritage of the Ural region. The bag’s shape echoes the delta letter found in the brand name.The project’s goal is to provide the user with a convenient and stylish accessory for self-expression. Idea and Concept
At the core of the accessory’s concept lies a manifesto of Ural Brutalism and a reinterpretation of industrial aesthetics for a young, bold urban audience. The bag is designed as a piece of conceptual merchandise that rejects classic shapes and conventional «banana bags.» It is made for self-expression by individuals (aged 16–35) who are unafraid to appear avant-garde and value functional utility within a grunge style. The design embeds a triple cultural-historical code of the region, linking geology, architecture, and industry:

• Platinum (Ural Geology). The white leather, the cool sheen of the massive hardware, and the cascade of chains all allude to the region’s history as the primary center for platinum mining. • Dam (Engineering Node). The rigid pyramidal silhouette and chiseled lines embody the harsh tectonics and power of the Nizhne-Isetsky Plant structures. • Pediment (Architecture). The triangular folding flap echoes the silhouette of the plant’s historical building and references the letter $\Delta$ (delta) in the brand name.

The bag features a rigid, pyramidal silhouette with sharply cut facets, embodying a monumental industrial character. The main visual focal point on the front panel is an asymmetrical triangular flap, echoing the geometry of the delta letter, which is dramatically enhanced by a cascade of three heavy-gauge metal chains.
The textured white leather of the item sharply contrasts with the cool metallic gleam of the chromed hardware, emphasizing a grunge aesthetic. The construction is completed with a dense top handle and a thoughtfully designed carabiner system, allowing the accessory to instantly transform into a sling, crossbody, or backpack for any urban scenario.

For the model, a monochrome white color was selected, which serves as a direct visual reference to the noble metal platinum and supports the brand’s identity. This minimalist color palette emphasizes the product’s strict tectonics and brings its complex geometry to the forefront.
Unlike colored materials, pure white allows architectural details of the form, the sharp edges of the folding clasp, and the construction nuances to be seen more clearly. The cool tint of the base creates a pronounced contrast with the metallic sheen of the chrome chains, enhancing the accessory’s industrial character. Later, the model may be released in other shades from the «PLATINA» project’s signature palette while maintaining the overall design.

This material boasts high tensile strength, optimal density, and exceptional durability, allowing the piece to maintain its rigid pyramidal shape and keep the crispness of its faceted edges even with prolonged wear. The natural texture of the bovine leather harmonizes beautifully with the brutalist grunge aesthetic.
The hardware features a substantial, solid metal decoration with a chrome finish: a cascade of three accent chains of varying gauges, semi-rings for body attachment, carabiners for quick strap transformation, and secure magnetic snaps/locks for fastening the asymmetrical delta-shaped flap.
Construction and overall dimensions
The bag’s construction features a solid-cut base with complex geometry, which transforms into a rigid, voluminous backpack-crossbody. The model is assembled using side clips (handle holders) secured with bolts and rivets. The top and bottom of the body are equipped with riveted loops and split rings, designed for attaching cascades of functional straps and enabling quick changes in carrying scenarios. The bag is closed by an asymmetric triangular flap (delta shape) with a hidden lock. A dense, arched handle is provided for carrying the item by hand.
